So ~Apkinesis and I went to Oni-Con yesterday for a few hours (we hardly ever stay very long at cons, lol). I went as Canada (military uniform) from Axis Powers Hetalia! I knew the risks of dressing as a Hetalia character, and I ended up being right... hahaha XD

It was soo much fun cosplaying as him~! I ended up having to ditch ~Apkinesis in the registration line because I got kidnapped by other APH cosplayers, and I spent most of my time with them and at the cosplay meet up/photo shoot, which was my first one. It was the first time I cosplayed as a popular series, too. I loved when Russia cosplayers would walk up to me and turn to a nearby Belarus and say "Look, it's the comfy chair!" So awesome. I didn't take any pics, but there were a lot of photographers, so they should be coming up at any time.

But I did end up buying a few things! I got one of those boxes of Fullmetal Alchemist figurines (where you don't know what's inside till you open it), and I got Winry, but ~Apkinesis gave me an Alphonse one because he got two of the same one...lol. He also gave me a Kamina (Gurren Lagann) keychain, and I also bought three pins/buttons from the artist alley: Phoenix (Ace Attorney), Vincent (Final Fantasy VII), and America (APH)! All of which I attached to my school bag along with my Alphonse keychain that I've had for a while...lol ^.^

So how are you guys doing?? I've been kind of neglectful on actually being on DA lately... I blame school!! ...seriously.... lol

So, yeah. I'm a senior in high school this year. Yep. ..... >.>

Lol, actually I'm somehow finding school enjoyable so far! Probably because of no math or science classes, having two art classes/periods, having an awesome English teacher, and actually living here long enough to know people in all my classes Sadly, in my sports and entertainment management class, the teacher is a coach and it's dominated by guy athletes o.o I might end up being the only girl in the class if the other girl ends up having her schedule changed... (awkwarrrd) x.x I know nothing about sports!!! But it's an easy class, so I guess I'm good... lol XD

Anyway! I'm planning on opening for commissions very soon because I'm really tight on money and am in much need for some this fall. I dropped the prices a little bit from what I mentioned in earlier posts, though. I just need to figure out how I should make my PayPal account, but I want to ask my parents first...

I really don't have much else to say...

Oh!! I have a question... Does anyone know how England celebrates Christmas? I'm wondering if it's really weird/creepy because they didn't say in this video, lol

No, I didn't kill any Jedi. Or... not recently since I haven't played any Star Wars video games in a while

Republic Commando
Anyway! So I finally sat down and finished reading Order 66. Ends up I actually only had a few chapters left, so once I got back into remembering "Oh, so they were doing this. And this happened. And he's doing this..." And I was getting all into it again and...then I finished o.o Lol, I guess that's what I get for not reading it all right away

But as I was reading there was a more serious scene that kinda jumped out at me in a way that made me want to draw it in comic form. A simple scene, but I kinda liked it. Maybe I should redo that four page comic I did waayy back from a scene in True Colors, I think it was (I really don't remember), to balance it out, lol That might actually be fun, I'll have to look for that later... >_>

I sometimes have people telling me how they like my RepCom art, both here and on YouTube. It always makes me happy to hear that, but I do feel kinda bad that I haven't been doing much of those lately, so hopefully I can get some more of those out soon

More Art
So I've slowly been working away to finish coloring another Metal Gear Solid comic...lol. I'll be posting another newer comic strip without colors (because I don't think it needs color) with that one to compensate for the wait, haha. But I'm thinking I might just do future comics in black and white to hopefully speed up the process...problem is that the part that takes the longest is cleaning up the lines to make it fit for computer coloring x.x Too bad I don't have Photoshop, that would make things so much easier lol

Commissions...maybe...perhaps....
I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for doing commissions, but I really would like to open for some after I learn more about doing them and get some quality examples ready. But I do have one request art that I'm still needing to finish, too, lol So do any of you guys have opinions on different price ranges, or...?

Music
You probably noticed that I didn't include my uber long list of music stuff; this journal was too long so I fugired I can just update it in my previous journal ([link]) Plus I'll need the space for when I eventually post commission info! lol

Cosplay
So my Ocelot Unit cosplay is still nearing completion. I decided I need to add more black dye onto the jacket, so now I just need to do that and find some gloves (why is it so hard to find gloves in Texas??? Ugh, this state is so weird... lol jk jk...or am I?)

I also decided that I'd like to buy/make a non-mask cosplay for places where dark, military, masked outfits are not common (I don't want people to think I'm some sort of Russian robber from the '60s), so I've decided to also have a second cosplay as-- *drumroll* CANADA~~!! ... *cough cough* Canada from Hetalia Axis Powers? ... *who are you?* ... I think I just saw some ghost-like country float by.... >.>;; (refering to this, starting at 1:40, for those who don't know-- [link] ) It's just like me to be the one sitting off to the side that no one notices, lol I'm debating whether I should buy a wig or just find some colored hair spray... o.o I'm thinking the hair spray might be cheaper so... lol


Well, I feel asleep. So I'm gonna go...do that now... .....Metal Gear quotes are awesome. Or should I say... they're PRETTY GOOD?? *ba dum tshh* Yeah...I don't remember my humor being so flat, so I can tell I need sleep. Maybe I shouldn't watch so many Japanese animes

Okay, the title has nothing to do with this journal; I just couldn't think of a proper title, lol (though Portal is a fun game) Oh, and the emoticon is dancing to the song I mention later in this journal lol (seriously, so awesome!)

Anywho, I just felt like I needed to apologize for neglecting my DA stuff lately, like with comments, notes, favs, posting more art stuff, etc. I feel kinda guilty. I actually don't know why I haven't been doing much on here this past week. I'll plan on getting through all my messages tomorrow, and I'll have new comics to post soon. Deal?

On a non-art related note, you guys probably noticed that mostly non-art related journal I posted last time. Well, I'm gonna keep that up in my new journals as reference to myself, so feel free to ignore that if you want

And if anyone's still reading...lol Can't wait to hear the final recording of "Call to Action" by Pillar, it sounds soo good! We (the street team) actually had a pretty funny conversation about that song with Rob (the lead singer) over on our forums haha I SO can't wait for their new album!! Normally I'd pre-order each of these releases, but since I need to save money, I'm probably only gonna be pre-ordering Pillar's and B.Reith's... And NO, that's not what the commissions would've been for (still trying to figure those out, btw).

Though I have to say I'm very intrigued with TFK's sound in "Bring Me To Life", and I think it's awesome that Jen's doing back up vocals now ("Hero" by Skillet). She was AMAZING in the live "Yours to Hold" from the Comatose Comes Alive DVD/CD, but now I'm wondering if Korey's still doing back up vocals. Hm...


As an ART update, lol, I've been working on new stuff pretty slowly. Right now I'm coloring an MGS comic, have another MGS comic ready for coloring, lines almost done for a cheesy KaminaxYoko (Gurren Lagann) pic which I may or may not post, and I'm working on at least two more MGS comics... I feel like I had more to work on but I don't remember... Though I do have an idea for bookmark sets
